Welcome to the LISA project website!

“LISA – Learning in Senior Age” wanted to expand already existing networks in Learning Regions which are focusing on learning in senior age.

This network should be enlarged by including social institutions focusing on senior citizens, and organisations in the fields of health care and ICT. So far these organisations had not become aware of their responsibility towards older people and of the facilities they could provide for this age group.

The participating regions in this project are Austria-Steiermark, Germany-Hamburg, Italy-Pisa, Portugal-Lisbon and the United Kingodm-Leicester. Regional working groups investigated the actual situation and developed strategies how to make the best use of synergy and resources, thus enabling older people in their post-professional phase and after their family phase to participate in educational programmes. These findings and experiences concerning the “best practice” were exchanged during transnational meetings. The results of LISA were then made available to other learning regions.
